The Full Story

Our Tramily

In 2020 we hiked the PCT for 6 months and our family of three became a Tramily of four. While some members may be off at college and living their regular lives, they are still an important part of our journey... and may even show up for a section of the trail in 2026!

Turtle

Originally from San Diego, she hiked 1,700 miles of the PCT in 2020 and is heading back for more. She has a bachelor’s in Tourism Development, a certificate in Event and Meeting Planning, and a PMP, and has spent the last 10 years in project management after an earlier career in marketing. This year’s goals are to see as much of the Sierras as possible, meet wonderful people from around the world, and see if we can manage better timing than in 2020. She’s most excited about her new wider sleeping pad and better headphones, though she’s still working on slimming down her pack—an ongoing challenge when a town dress, PJs, and a few other “essentials” are clearly non-negotiable.

Gnome

Originally from San Diego, he hiked 1,700 miles of the PCT in 2020 and somehow decided that was a great idea to do again. He has a master’s in education and works as a learning experience designer when he’s not wandering around outside. This year’s hike is about improving his physical and mental health, unplugging from technology, meeting good people, and enjoying a fresh start as we head into our empty-nester years. His current favorite pieces of gear are his sleeping pad (non-negotiable) and his new headphones (also non-negotiable). If you cross paths with him on the trail, he’s always up for passing the miles with word games and an impressive supply of dad humor.

Cricket

Born in San Francisco, she spent elementary school in San Diego, CA and high school in Olympia, WA where she graduated in 2025.  In 2020 she hiked 1,200 miles of the PCT and chose to leave the trail after achieving the goals she had set for herself. She’s is attending Boise State University and studying International Business and Accounting. As she does not want to do the full trail, she will be spending her summer completing an internship in Barcelona, Spain. Equal parts capable and adventurous, she’s already balancing big goals with a love of new places—and proving that the trail was just an early preview of a life that’s going to cover a lot of ground.

Wiseman

He hiked almost 1,200 miles with us and completed his PCT hike before returning to his home to northern Washington. While he won’t be hiking the trail with us this time, he’s still a key part of the team—keeping things running behind the scenes by coordinating our resupply boxes and making sure we’re set up for success. And when we finally step off the trail, he’ll be there to celebrate with us, which might be the most important role of all.
